Question: Why have not Muslim and Bukhari mentioned the quotation of "Yawm al-Dar"?
Answer: Muslim, Bukhari and others have not mentioned the quotation of "Yawm al-Dar"m because they have found it against their opinion regarding the caliphate. This issue has compelled them to avoid many of clear texts. They think if they quote them, they will act as weapons for Shia; therefore they have concealed it intentionally.
Many of noblemen of Sunnis - May God forgive them - have followed the same way; and they have concealed all quotations which were like this. They have a famous style in concealing the quotations that Hafiz Ibn Hajar, has quoted from them in his book, Fathul Bari ,and Bukhari has opened a chapter for this meaning in the end of the book of knowledge of the first part of Sahih book and has said:(11) «بابُ مَنْ خُصَّ بِالْعِلْمِ قَوْماً دُونَ قَوْم»
For whoever knows the style of Bukhari about the Commander of believers (a.s.) and the rest of Ahle Bayt (a.s.), and be aware that he avoids writing their characters and prominent points, it comes as no surprise to know that he and those who have a manner like his avoid narrating such quotations.(2)
