Quick Answer:
Detailed Answer:
‘Abd al-Ḥamīd ibn Abī al-Ḥadīd has said the following: The Prophet (ṣ) would respect his daughter Fatimah (‘a) to a much higher degree than that shown by the average person towards their daughters. He in fact held her in so much respect that it went beyond the love that fathers have towards their children and this is witnessed in numerous incidents and events, and is spread out amongst the years of the Prophet’s (ṣ) life.
The Prophet (ṣ) was known to say amongst the people (both amongst the masses, as well as his s e l e c t companions) that: She is the master of the women of this world and the peer of the Lady Maryam, the daughter of ‘Imrān. When she is passing through the Day of Judgment, a caller will call out from the throne: Oh people… lower your eyes until Fatimah, the daughter of Muhammad, has passed.[1]
This tradition is an authentic tradition and it is not from the traditions which are weak and without credibility. The Prophet (ṣ) wedded Fatṭimah to ‘Ali only when God had wedded them in the heavens under the witnessing of the angels. He is also narrated to have said on multiple occasions: Whatever bothers her, bothers me, and whatever angers her, angers me; she is from me and whatever upsets her, upsets me.[2] [3]
