Question: How object of similitude has been altered in the Manzelat tradition?
Answer: Some of the anti Shia have tried to alter object of similitude in the Manzelat tradition, and have applied the term, Qarun (Croesus) instead of Aaron to resemble Imam Ali (a.s.) to Qarun. Ebne Asaker Damascus Shafei narrates f r o m Ismaeil Ebne Ayyash in the version of “Hariz Ebne Osman”: I heard f r o m Hariz Ebne Osman that what is narrated by people f r o m Prophet (s.a.) addressing Ali (a.s.) that:
انت منّى بمنزلة هارون من موسى
is right, but the hearer has mistaken. I asked him: What has been the correct one? He answered: It has been:
انت منّى بمنزلة قارون من موسى
I asked him: From whom do you narrate the tradition so? He said: I heard f r o m Valid Ebne Abdolmalek narrating it so.
We reply:
First: According to all traditions narrated in the tradition books, even both Sahih books, the term, هارون (Aaron) has been applied.
Second: The only one who narrates the tradition f r o m Valid Ebne Abdolmalek is Hariz who is one of the enemies of Prophet’s Household (a.s.) specially Imam Ali (a.s.).
Third: Hariz Ebne Osman is an anti-Shia according to what has been mentioned in his translation and biography of Sunnite books.
Yahya Ebne Saleh Vahazi says: I was asked why you do not write traditions f r o m Hariz Ebne Osman? I answered: How shall I write tradition f r o m one with whom I recited morning prayer for seven years, while I did not see him exiting mosque unless he damned Ali seventy times per day.
Abou Hofas says: Hariz Ebne Osman offended Ali (a.s.) many times, and damned him on the pulpit, and explicitly stated: I do not like him because of killing my fathers. (1), (2)
